Augmentation, reduction, lift and reconstruction — delivered by Dr. Pranav Thusay, fellowship-trained in advanced breast aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at a leading centre in Brussels, Belgium.
Dr. Thusay's fellowship in Advanced Breast Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery in Brussels is one of the most prestigious in Europe. This training directly informs the level of care, implant selection precision, and outcomes planning available at PeriFORMÉ.
Dr. Thusay assesses your anatomy, discusses your goals, and recommends the optimal approach. For augmentation, implant type, profile and size are selected using anatomical sizers.
Routine blood work, cessation of blood thinners for 2 weeks, mammogram if indicated, and written pre-op instructions. Patients are seen in clinic 1 week before surgery.
Performed under general anaesthesia in an accredited hospital. Incisions are placed in discreet locations (inframammary fold, periareolar or axilla). Drains may be placed as needed.
Surgical bra worn for 6 weeks. Light activity resumes at 2 weeks, full exercise at 6 weeks. Detailed written follow-up instructions provided. Dr. Thusay personally reviews all post-op patients.
Swelling subsides over 6–8 weeks. Implants settle into final position over 3–6 months. Scars mature and fade over 12–18 months.
Modern cohesive silicone gel implants have an excellent safety record backed by decades of global clinical data. Dr. Thusay uses CE-marked and FDA-cleared implants from internationally reputable manufacturers. All implants carry a manufacturer's warranty.
Temporary changes in nipple sensitivity are common in the first 3–6 months and usually resolve. Permanent loss of sensation is uncommon. Dr. Thusay's meticulous surgical technique minimises this risk.
Breastfeeding is generally not affected by augmentation (implant placed under the muscle) or lift. After a breast reduction, breastfeeding capacity may be reduced depending on the technique used — this is discussed at your consultation.
Augmentation adds volume; a lift reshapes and elevates sagging tissue. Many patients benefit from a combined augmentation-mastopexy (augmentation with lift) to address both volume loss and sagging simultaneously.
High-quality silicone implants do not have a mandatory replacement schedule. They are replaced only if a complication occurs (capsular contracture, rupture) or if the patient desires a change. Most implants last 15–20+ years without issues.
Capsular contracture is scar tissue forming around the implant that can make the breast feel firm. It occurs in approximately 1–3% of cases. Dr. Thusay uses techniques (dual-plane placement, textured/smooth implants, antibiotic irrigation) to minimise this risk.
Breast reconstruction following mastectomy for cancer is often covered by health insurance in India. Cosmetic augmentation and reduction are generally not covered. Our team will assist you in understanding your specific coverage.
Desk work: 10–14 days. Physical work or exercise: 4–6 weeks. All patients receive personalised return-to-work guidance based on their specific procedure.
